ILO 169 is the only international law for tribal peoples. ILO 169 recognises tribal peoples’right to: land ownership, equality and freedom and to make decisions about projects that affect them. It will become the world’s benchmark when more governments agree to it. Those that don’t ratify it make it weaker.
