A bruzardbrain asked this question to some paragliding pilots: If you have sex with your Clone, Is it Incest? Masturbation?

Reply N.1: It would be gay for sure, because your clone would be the same sex as you!

Reply N.2: If they'd make a clone of you today, you'd also have to wait quite a lot of time for it not to be considered pedophilism ...I don't think we will ever be able to produce adult clones. Incest and gay yes, definitely not masturbation.

Reply N.3: You can change the view but you can't change the chromosomes... still gay.

Reply N.4: This sounds very similar to a discussion I had in my undergrad days with copious amounts of beer, with one caveat. Male humans have 1 X, and 1 Y chromosome. If you delete the Y, and copy the X, you essentially have a female version of yourself. You have every gene the female clone has (and a little more). It is not gay, and it is "you" particularly if you use one of your own cells to create the embryo (as opposed to implanting a nucleus into an egg cell). Females... out of luck on the not-gay-clone-sex. Well, females, if they had a Y chromosome, it would be the same as their dads, so you could use that, but then there is the question of which X to discard, and incorporating the fathers chromosome, and the fact the clone has genetic material the original doesn't have, firmly pushes it from: sex-with-yourself = masturbation, to sex-with-a-very-close-relative = incest.

Reply N.5: That would be a very bad quality clone, with all unbalanced (mirrored) recessive genes forcing their way to the phenotype ==> lots of genetic diseases.

Reply N.6: No more so than usual, the Y chromosome contains very few genes, almost none of which are homologs of the ones on the X. That is why a lot of genetic diseases are more prevalent in boys, such as color blindness and hemophilia. For a guy, 1 copy of a recessive gene on the X and the recessive trait is expressed. You would only call it recessive because females have 2 copies and a harmful mutation on one chromosome can be masked. You can be quite assured, if you are a guy, and you had any genetic disorders on your X chromosome, your Y will not be masking them, and you'll know you have the bad versions of the gene. Dominant/recessive doesn't really matter for males on the X chromosome, as males normally operate with only 1 copy of any gene on the X, unlike the other chromosomes and females where you have 2 copies of each gene.

Reply N. 7: I thank you for taking this idea and following those interesting pathways. However, as my real IQ is only about two points above plant life, I read your words with absolute and fully attentive interest but understand only 20 percent. When I read your comments, I actually feel smarter...but it only lasts a short while. Please continue because there are many lurkers in here who are following your words, understanding and learning.

Reply N.8: Just caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and have decided that I don't want to F*!@ me!!!!!! Interesting topic though.

Final personal conclusion: Flying is done largely with the imagination and a paragliding pilot is strange and unique, just like everyone else...
